Flint Cares was created out of the Flint Water Recovery Group as a way to provide Flint residents with the most accurate, up-to-date and trustworthy information regarding the crisis. The Flint Recovery Group, also known as the Community Partners Group, is a partnership of the more than 120 non-profits, churches, grass-root organizations, individuals and residents that are working together to create short, intermediate, and long term solutions related to the crisis. Their website has information about how lead in the water affects so many daily activities including such things as gardening, nutrition, health, skin, pets, children's resources, etc.

The county Community Action Agencies are great as a first step when you need help. These agencies provide multiple services: Utility help, eviction help, access to state resources, housing and weatherization programs, Literacy and Education, Computer classes, Financial coaching, Foreclosure intervention, free tax prep, home ownership programs and more. If you call their Call Centers, they will direct you to the help you need. If you need something they don't provide, they have resource navigators with a lot more experience than we have who can connect you to other community resources.
